The impact is huge
After four years, our farmers and their families at least double their crop yield, have access to clean water, can send their children to school, and can afford to save.
In partnership with a local church, our sustainable community development work aims to see rural communities thrive.
Spending the first year listening to the community and deepening our relationship with the church, we support them in what they want to do so that people gain skills for a hope-filled future. Our experience has shown that clean water, conservation farming, conflict resolution, growth mindset and business training are what communities identify
The effects of these interventions are huge. 2023 results showed that after two years, 98% of families had enough food to eat (baseline 0%), 100% of families saved at least 1000-5000 Shillings per week (baseline 14%).
We also saw a 70% decrease in women in the groups experiencing domestic violence and 94% of women feeling able to make decisions in the home as a result of the positive support.
In 2022, 46% of first and 89% of second year respondents said there was now hope in their respective communities.
By God’s grace, I heard about Amigos from one of my neighbours and decided to join the Kwite Aye Teko community farming group and it was a turning point in my life.
The new conservation farming skills have greatly improved my crop yields. I planted 1 acre of groundnuts in the second season of the second year that yielded 8 bags (800kgs), the highest I had ever harvested when compared to traditional methods of farming where I could get 2-3 bags.

After the training… I went back and sat my family down and taught them the skills I got from Amigos, and it has changed our family's mindset.
We have started a livestock farm, with 8 chickens, 2 pigs, and goats soon to be added.
