Who we are Our Impact Our impact I was given a chance to learn tailoring through Amigos and now I am running a free school teaching tailoring to poor girls. 41,000 people in 2018 enjoyed increased crop yields, food, income, health and clean water thanks to your support. 94% is the amount by which domestic violence plummeted amongst our women farmers. 9/10 children now attend school regularly in the communities we work in, a year ago this figure was zero. 98% of young people trained have set up a business or found employment. ‘ Conservation farming has doubled our harvest – now we have enough to eat and the money I’ve made from the surplus crops is helping to pay my children’s school fees.’ Robert, Gulu. ‘The nearest borehole used to be 2km away. My husband would shout at me whenever we ran short of water and it got so bad I wanted a divorce. Since Amigos installed a borehole nearby there is peace in my home.’ Harriet, Masindi. ‘Without Amigos I would have spent my life digging other people’s land and fetching water,’ Patrick, Lira.
