Visit Uganda with your school or a group

Kira Farm is on a secure compound where visiting guests spend time and get to know the Ugandan trainees who are calling it home for a year. A chance to make friends and get to know Ugandan young people in a safe, peaceful and beautiful setting.

A chance to laugh, dance and sing. Or just play cards, swap stories and learn about each other. There are excellent guest facilities at Kira farm, separate boys and girls’ accommodation, hot showers and excellent food served that even the most fussy visitor will enjoy.

Groups get the chance to get their hands dirty helping on a project that will benefit a community local to Kira Farm. This can include building a water harvesting tank, planting trees or even helping build toilet blocks at local school. Projects depend on what local needs are and how involved the visiting group wants to be.

There is also the chance to visit other communities that Amigos support towards the North of Uganda. An opportunity to see life up close in a rural setting and the challenges people face. Importantly it’s also a chance to see how Amigos’ work impacts these communities and the transformation it can bring, such as seeing the joy on the faces of people getting clean water form a newly drilled borehole.

Muchison Falls National Park rivals the best in Africa. Most groups enjoy a visit here during their trip to see the huge diversity of life on offer. A visit also normally includes a safari on the River Nile all the way up to the world’s most powerful waterfall.

The ‘big 5’ animals can all be observed in the national park via 4×4 or minibus, night and day. There are various options for all budgets for accommodation and transport whilst there. You can also stop off at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary nearby, where you can get up close and personal on foot with wild Rhino.

Uganda is blessed with some great adrenaline pumping activities and the chance for adventure. White Water rafting on the River Nile at Jinja is truly world class.

Mount Elgon and the Rwenzori Mountains areas offer the chance to trek through diverse habitats all the way to glaciers. A path less travelled than other regions in Africa making for a real adventure.
