Robina Gloria Kyoshabire Sseruwagi
Country Director
Robina is the Country Director of Amigos Uganda. She was a member of the Amigos Uganda board from 2016 to 2023. She is passionate about the humanitarian/community empowerment work of Amigos Worldwide. Robina is an advocate of the high court of Uganda, with experience in immigration, trade and corporate law. She is an advocate of women’s and children’s rights. She loves people and enjoys volunteering. She is a trained mediator with a keen interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and an associate member of the CiArb.
Titus Okello BA
Livelihoods & Community Extension Coordinator
As the Extension Coordinator Ti’s role is varied and wide-ranging. He oversees all our work in the community, heading up 30 conservation farming groups annually, managing our core group of extension workers, and developing new initiatives. Ti also teaches Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Appropriate Technologies Titus has always dreamed of working with an NGO (charity) that can unite him with local communities. He loves to serve communities and see them flourish.
Joshua Kizito BA
Youth Empowerment Facilitator
Josh has a degree in Adults and Community Education; he specialised in working with, and educating, vulnerable people, with a focus on how they can access resources and become self-reliant. He has previously worked in child sponsorship for another NGO, and international volunteers with Watoto Church, Kampala. Josh is responsible for Kira Farm Development Centre‘s curriculum, overseeing all trainers, and helping them with their personal development. Joshua is central to the smooth running and success of Kira Farm and he is an invaluable part of the team.
Mary Kizito
Operation Assistant & Manageress of Kira Lodges
Mary is responsible for the well-being of our trainees and staff. She is central to making the whole project run smoothly, liaising between staff and the entire Kira community. Mary is also manageress of Kira Lodges, our income-generating guesthouses/trainee learning centre, enabling ‘real-life’ training for Kira young people who are interested in finding employment in the catering sector. Mary is married to Joshua and plays a key role in hosting international trips
Joseph Sabiiti
Family Sponsorship Coordinator
Joseph oversees our Family Sponsorship programme, visiting our sponsored children at home and at school, and training caregivers in growth mindset skills. Joseph collects letters and school report cards three times a year to send to sponsors, pays school fees and helps families to become united where everyone is valued. He has training in parental care and child protection. Joseph is a key member of the Amigos Uganda team. He speaks 17 languages/dialects.
Catherine Essanyu BSc
Family Sponsorship Assistant & Human Resources
Catherine is passionate about creating an environment for people to thrive and utilise their full potential. She is an ever-learning student of gender studies specialising in women and child empowerment and she loves children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and a postgraduate degree in project planning & human resource management.
Areebabyoona Kanyonyore
Director of Finance
Areeba is passionate about figures. He has 10 years’ experience with accountancy firm Sync Partners as director of finance at Trinity Schools Uganda. He is an ACCA affiliate, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School and a Bachelor’s in Commerce.
Maureen Josephine
Livelihoods & Community Extension Assistant Coordinator
Maureen was a Kira Trainee in 2014, where alongside knowledge and skills she also gained a healthy view of herself as a strong woman with leadership skills. With a passion for community development, Maureen has worked for different NGOs including VSO Uganda before coming back home to Amigos. She is excited to be able to use her leadership and communication skills in a greater capacity and loves to facilitate holistic restoration in communities.
Vincent Anguyo
Agriculture, Tree Planting and Beekeeping Trainer
Vincent is a trainer in conservation farming and tree planting techniques. He’s out in the field most days working closely with our trainees. He loves passing on his knowledge to others. He has recently added beekeeping training to his repertoire. Vincent was one of our first trainees and proved so good, we couldn’t let him go!
Lydia Namirembe BA
Tailoring & Crafts Trainer
Lydia provides creative hands-on training, equipping our students to make garments for adults and children, as well as creating decorative household items. Lydia also teaches the decorating of fabrics through painting and tie-dye, the weaving of bags, and the manufacture of crafts such as necklaces, earrings, and bangles.
Oliver Bukirwa BvocEd, NDCE
Building & Construction Trainer
Oliver has a passion for building. She has 5 years of experience of training young people to become competent and respected builders in all aspects of building. She loves to inspire more young women to get involved in changing the world through building and to use their skills to offer services and earn a living. She has a bachelor’s degree in Technological Studies with Education and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Nantongo Mwajuma
Hairdressing & Beautician Trainer
As a beautician, Nantongo trains our young women and men in hair, skincare and beauty. This wide-ranging course also includes: colouring, extensions, braiding and hair straightening as well as manicures, pedicures, nail services and make-up. Many Kira graduates go on to set up successful hairdressing salons in their own homes, providing much-needed income for their families.
Edward Magembe
Carpentry Trainer
Edward is passionate about sharing his skills with young people. He loves carpentry and creating pieces while utilising natural elements. His skills cover the entire spectrum of carpentry and joinery. As a Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) assessor, he has been able to share his skills alongside evaluating the skills of his learners.
Peter Genza BA
Business & Leadership Trainer
Peter’s role at Kira is to help each trainee become a skilful and confident entrepreneur through a series of short courses. As an entrepreneur himself, nothing brings Peter more pleasure than helping each Kira trainee reach their full potential. Peter’s other passion is training pastors and community leaders in effective leadership, which he does very successfully through our workshops for farming group leaders.
Joshua Nsereko Dip
ICT Trainer
Joshua is a skilful young man who has a passion to help others. Joshua is not only responsible for Kira Farm’s IT, videos and photography, but also teaches our trainees in basic computer skills. Joshua has quite a challenge on his hands as most of our trainees come from rural Uganda and have never laid eyes on a computer.
Isaiah Lubwama
Menstrual Hygiene Management
Isaiah is one of our former trainees who loves sharing knowledge. He began supporting as an intern with the rabbit project, tailoring and cosmetology departments. Now he is a resourceful individual spearheading our Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) projects alongside providing assistance in both the tailoring and cosmetology training departments.
William Ssekalembe
Farm Manager
William brings his valuable knowledge and experience to Kira Farm specialising in organic vegetable and fruit growing. His background includes producing organic Japanese vegetables and drying organic fruits for the Japanese export market.
Olivia Bakko
Kira Farm Caterer
Olivia is one of our former trainees and her responsibilities at Kira include preparing three meals a day, keeping both staff and trainees very well fed. She loves catering and is passionate about creating a variety of healthy meals. She is seen by the trainees as one of the most important people at the centre (especially when you’re hungry!).
David Ntege
Security Guard
David is one of our security guards helping to keep Kira Farm safe among his other responsibilities. He comes from Nalyamagonja Village where Kira Farm is located, so has good knowledge of the surrounding area.
Edward Batumba
Security Guard
Edward Batumbya Kizza is one of our security guards with 8 years serving in security departments before working with us. He has also served in the Triple Canopy Guard force in Iraq for 1 year. His commitment and capabilities are sure to keep Kira Farm safe.
Anthony Yiga
Farm Assistant / Security Guard
Anthony has been supporting Kira Farm in security and in assisting the tree nursery. He has proven to be a valuable resource and as such has taken the role of farm assistant. His 5 years’ experience in farming grounds him as a greatly valued member of the team.

Elizabeth Mugumya
Chairperson
Elizabeth is CEO of Capital Law Partners & Advocates holding a law degree and postgraduate diploma from the University of Wales. Elizabeth’s speciality includes mergers and acquisitions, constituting and advising boards of directors, compliance, licensing, contract negotiation, private equity and arbitration.
Pastor Sam Mukabi Zema
Sam is Senior Pastor of Masaka Pentecostal Church, and president of Foundation for Effective Leadership. As an inspirational speaker, Sam is in high demand nationally and internationally, speaking at numerous conferences in Uganda and around the world. His passion is to inspire and equip people in leadership, business skills and marriage.
Patrick Okonye
Patrick is a retired Senior Superintendent of Uganda’s Prisons who was responsible for Livestock Health & Development. Patrick has been guiding Amigos almost from the beginning. He was the equivalent to the UK’s CEO in Uganda for many years. He is hugely valued and sits on the Uganda board providing advice with his extensive knowledge in farming.
Peter Genza
Peter is an international artist, writer and satirist. He is a co-founder of the Ugandan children’s cancer charity, Bless A Child Foundation. Peter is also a director at Kampala Art Auction Ltd and a director at Foundation for Effective Leadership. His passion is to equip people in business and leadership skills.
Richard Kibuuka BA MA
Richard is a development professional with over 12 years experience working with international NGOs. At present he is leading sustainable development solutions in Uganda, Ethiopia and Malawi with Evidence Action. He is passionate about evidence-based programming and seeing participants empowered to take a lead in their own development. In the past he has worked with World Vision and Amigos Worldwide. Richard is married to Stacy, they have three children.
