Amigos is working to bring self-sustainability, dignity and hope to the young people in Uganda through investing in vocational training, educational opportunities and holistic life-skills. We are committed to standing with the most vulnerable and equipping them to fulfil their potential.

At Kira Farm Training Centre, we model the effective and sustainable use of natural resources, teaching environmentally friendly farming methods. Amigos places a high value on the natural resources of Uganda and seeks to use these in innovative and creative ways. Through providing a variety of vocational training courses we enable young people to become self-sustainable and financially free. Alongside this, our students are equipped through life skills, including character development, health and nutrition and holistic care. We teach biblical discipleship, and life skills such as parenting skills, emotional development, and empowering mediators. We are also developing pioneering courses teaching restorative justice methods and empowering our students to become change agents in their communities.
We provide on-going education at Kira Farm Training Centre, and through our child sponsorship programme we enable more than 250 children across Uganda to go to school. Only 1 in 4 Ugandans complete secondary school education, Amigos is turning this tide. In 2011, the second Amigos child is enrolling in university through the sponsorship scheme, the first of many we believe!
Amigos believes that all those they invest in should then invest in others, ultimately creating a ripple effect across Uganda. We encourage and equip Kira Farm students as they return to their villages, enabling them to be self-sustainable through vocational training, and empowering them to transform their communities.
“I no longer want to be part of anything that isn't a personal sacrifice, that doesn't demand a cost, that doesn't involve discipleship. I only want to be part of something with people who have a servant heart and is totally transparent and accountable.”
Pastor Gerald Sseruwagi, Uganda, friend of Amigos
“Christianity that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress"
James 1:27, The Bible
We know that we can't do everything, but we can all do something!
