As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person - Paul Shane Spear
We don’t aim to pay all the school costs for the child, as we believe that this would compromise the dignity of the children’s family and we want to encourage the families and relatives to remain the primary care givers of their own children; instead, we seek to provide a supporting role. Through the child sponsorship scheme we aim to pay up to 75% of school costs, including funds towards school fees, uniform and books, and in some cases a very important school dinner, all of this for just £16 a months.
As a sponsor you will be able to choose the gender and age group of your sponsored child. We aim to send you letters and school reports from your child about 3 time per year. You will also have the opportunity to write back to them, and if you wish, give a small gift each year which will be put into a liltte saving account and allocated to your child at Christmas with a gift of thier choice.
So if you are looking for a worthwhile way of helping an underprivileged child by giving them an education please print off our child sponsorship pack at the bottom of this page. You will need to complete all the details and return to Amigos with the address provided within the sponsorship pack.
“Sponsoring Simon Peter makes a small, but significant, and very real difference to him and his community. Through hands-on organisations like Amigos we have the chance to see our money put to good use, and an opportunity to teach our children about real people that we have a relationship with in the rest of the world.” Ian and Alison
As I am sure you will be aware, when children are the focus of any charity there are certain safeguards that both the sponsor and the charity have to adhere to for their protection. It is important that we have the enclosed Child Protection Policy read and signed by all of our sponsors. If you have any questions relating to this, then please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.
A Child Sponsorship Enrolment Form is also enclosed, which needs to be filled out in order for your sponsorship to begin.
In addition to your valuable financial support your sponsored child would very much like to receive letters from you. The children are also keen to write to their sponsors, and we believe that this communication is a valuable and gratifying part of the sponsorship programme. We recommend two letters per year.
We would like to thank you for your interest in child sponsorship and hope that it is something you could consider supporting.
