: Emily's Story :
Emily Catchpool from Bath was 12 years old when she first
heard about Amigos, over the last 6 years she has raised
a staggering £5,400 for Kira Farm Training Centre!
Emily has worked tirelessly raising funds through various
activities, especially via her Hand Crafted Greeting
Cards.
Now 18, Emily has finished her A Levels and plans
to go to Liverpool University to study Primary School/Early
Learning and gain a teaching degree.
Emily was chosen
as ‘Mayor's Young Citizen' for the city of Bath
in 2009 and she says that one of the highlight
was meeting Nicholas Cage when he switched on Bath's
Christmas Lights. At the Mayor's ‘Call to
Prayer', she was also able to promote Kira Farm
in a talk she gave on ‘Her Vision for the Future'.
Emily visited Kira Farm when she was 16 and has since
worked hard to raise its profile in her local church,
St Philip and St James. She has given several presentations
and plans to strengthen the links now established between
Act 4 Africa and Victoria's Glenburnie School venture
that is nearby. St Philip and St James Church (Bath)
recognizes the effort that Emily has put in and is committed
to praying and supporting both her and the project.
